Chemistry Teacher
Reeths - Puffer High School
If I could have handpicked a job after getting my teaching degree, I would be hard pressed to find a better fit for myself. I feel honored to teach at the school I once attended as a student and I hope to give back as much as it has given me. I teach AP chemistry as well as regular chemistry.
Physical Science Teacher
Hope College Upward Bound
This was my first actual teaching job outside of student teaching. I was a little nervous, but I could not have asked for a better group of staff or students to work with. If you are not familiar with the program, it is worth looking into. It is meant to prepare students who are striving to be the first members of their family to attend and complete post-secondary education. I taught chemistry and physics during a six week period in the summer.

This is where I got my proverbial feet wet. Michigan State University requires their prospective teachers to spend a full year student teaching in order to build stronger relationships and get a better feel for the rhythm of an entire school year. During this time I taught physical science, chemistry, and a bit of algebra.
Graduate Program

After I taught chemistry for a couple of years at Reeths - Puffer High School, I felt ready to continue my education. I decided to pursue my Master of Arts in Education Degree at Michigan State University. I got my degree with a concentration in P-12 and Post-secondary Leadership.
Undergraduate Program
Michigan State University
I carried my academic and musical interests to Michigan State University where I majored in chemistry and continued to play trombone. Throughout my studies, I found enjoyment in working and helping others. This caused me to pursue teaching and I have grown a sense of fulfillment ever since.
High School
Reeths - Puffer High School
While attending Reeths - Puffer, I took advantage of the many opportunities it offered. Outside of academics, I spent a large portion of my time in the band program as a trombone player and played tennis all four years. Beyond that, I participated in a couple years of football, played and acted in musicals, and made many meaningful relationships on the way.
